Countdown to 100 Shows: 2 Giveaways

One of the show’s primary goals is to help grow the scene, and that means re-investing — and that means sponsorship.

We’re going to re-evaluate the way we do sponsorships in 2018, and think out the whole process in a more formal way. For now, though, we’re going to sponsor the entry fees for two athletes to one upcoming US Grappling event.

Do you want to be one of these athletes? Good news! You only have to do three things:

1. Write us a paragraph about why we should sponsor you. When I say a paragraph, I mean one paragraph — no more than five sentences, no more than 100 words. Do you love North Carolina jiujitsu more than anybody? Do you dig the show and tell all your friends about it? Do you have a unique story that would be dope to tell on the show? Most importantly, are you the kind of human we can get behind?

2. Send us a picture of you either a) wearing a Toro gi, or b) competing at a US Grappling event, or ideally c) both, like this handsome gentleman below. We want to support the folks that support our sponsors! You might be able to find one in the most recent tournament album. You can also send us a screenshot of your registration for a US Grappling event if you want. (When you send us this pic, you acknowledge that we might use it on the site).

Just one more thing …

3. When the 100th show with Ricardo de la Riva & Vicente Junior comes out, you’ve got to share the show on Facebook to be eligible.  Trust me, the show is going to be awesome, so hopefully you want to do this anyway.

Answers to some questions you might have:

How do I enter? Email your paragraph and your photo to cagesidewhup@gmail.com by Friday, Aug. 18 at noon Eastern time.

How will you know if I share the show on Facebook? Like Santa, we see you when you’re sleeping and know when you’re awake. OK, that sounded kind of stalkerish. We’ll trust you.

How do we decide who wins? A three-judge panel will decide our two winners, but if you’re competing at US Grappling, rockin’ Toro gis, and listening to the show, you’re all winners in my book.

What do you get if you win? You pick a tournament on the US Grappling schedule, and we pay for you to enter that tournament. Plus, we’ll send you a fancy Dirty White Belt patch!

We will announce winners on the Sunday, Aug. 20 show. Thanks for playing and good luck in the contest and on the mats!
